Top Things That Cockroaches Hate

Of course they hate any form of light they aren’t runnin away to hide only because they are afraid of you….

However, here is a list of things cockroaches hate that will still work in the dark…

• Bay Leaves

• Green Pandan Plant / Leaves

• Dried Mint Leaves

• Peppermint

• Tabasco

• Hot Chile Peppers

• Garlic

• Cucumbers

• Lemons

• Cayenne Pepper

• Organic Catnip

• Moth Balls made from Naphthalene

• Cypress Oil

• Citronella Oil

• Teatree Oil

• Lemongrass Oil

• Cigar Clippings

• Salt

• Bleach

So as to things like Pepperment, Mint, Lemon, Cypress, Citronella, Teatree and Lemon Grass using a pure oil or extract added to a mixture of dishsoap and water (either in a spray bottle or using a bucket and sponge) to clean your countertops and cabinets.

Another good idea is to juice 4 lemons and rinds and add to a ½ gallon of soap water and clean your kitchen / bathroom floors. You’ll love the fresh smell! The cockroaches definately wont!

Below are two links you might find interesting on helping rid the cockroach problem..

  3. My family has had a roach problem since I was 2. It can be difficult to kick out the nasty little critters let alone kill them out. We even called the exterminator out twice and it barely did a thing to the roach population. We even had garlic and guess what got in it? You guessed it, roaches. Alot of remedies dont often work. Some may, but you never know until you test it out. Baking soda mixed with water into a paste has been known to work only if you mix in something real tempting for them to eat it which should kill them. If you have pets, be sure to take up the food and water because roaches love water and they can feed off your dog or cat's food. If you feed your cat can food, you may a chance at trapping them by setting the can down and find it covered at the bottom the next day. All that's left to do then is fill the can halfway with water and watch them drown. After thirty minutes check back on the can and move the can to see if anymore are alive, if no sign of movement, just dispose of it however you can. Another trap that is is good is a glue trap. You can find them with other pest products. Hope that was helpful.

    2. Have you tried boric acid? It's the only thing that worked in my house after the exterminator didn't work. I use a turkey baster and make sure it gets blown into every crack and crevice in my house (especially under my base boards) and garage. Then, about a week later they start showing up dead! Now i do it every summer. I'm in Fl so as soon as it starts warming up they show up
